Short review: Rescue Rangers is very short and easy and plays a lot like Duck Tales. Although Duck Tales is the reigning king of games based on cartoons on the NES Chip n’ Dale Rescue Rangers is a close second. The music is great and the controls are very tight. The game also offers a 2 player co-op mode which is a lot of fun to play.

My friend Jason came over a few days before Christmas to deliver a couple of bleach shirts he made for me to give as Christmas gifts. One of Michael Jackson for my wife and one of a zombie mandolin player for my brother Luke. Jason and I rode to Wal-Mart to pick up my new glasses (as seen in the photo below) and decided a little 2-player Chip n Dale action was needed to celebrate Christmas.
The game features the ability to choose which level to play in which order. It is easy to see the shortest route to the end meaning there are several levels there is no reason to play. Jason and I plowed through the game in just over half an hour. The hardest part is having both players play at the same pace. If one player gets too far ahead the other player is more likely to fall into a hole. The game is very fun but doesn’t offer the same depth of gameplay as Duck Tales so I couldn’t give it a perfect score.
